Tobermory, on the north end of the Bruce Peninsula, is a great place to visit, one of the best on Georgian Bay I think. Good shopping and fish are available in the town.

Erlinda drove up from Toronto and we met friends there on a boat called 'Tumbleweed' and had dinner with them on the Friday night. Next day we took part in the Great Lakes Cruising Club activities.

While we were there we did a hike on the Bruce Trail which actually starts in this area. This part of the trail is spectacularly beautiful and challenging as it is constantly running along beaches and then up high rocky paths across jutting cliffs.

Sailing is very beautiful around the Bruce Peninsula with places to pull into which are not far apart if the weather turns bad. In the past I have dropped into Wingfield Basin on the north-east corner of the peninsula. It is very sheltered in the basin and a great place to anchor for the night or escape bad weather.
